Die Aufgabe der Venen, sauerstoffarmes Blut im Körper zu sammeln und ins Herz zurück zu transportieren, ist stark von deren Gesundheit und Funktionsfähigkeit abhängig.
Die Länge der gesamten Venen im Körper zusammengerechnet beträgt mehr als 160 Kilometer. Eine wichtige Eigenschaft der Venen ist deren Dehnbarkeit, da sie viel Blut transportieren müssen. Zudem müssen die Venen gegen die Schwerkraft arbeiten, und können daher leichter strapaziert und verletzt werden. Dies kann zu Krampfadern oder anderen Veränderungen führen.
Risikofaktoren für Venenerkrankungen sind beispielsweise Bluthochdruck, mangelnde Bewegung, ballaststoffarme Ernährung, hormonelle Faktoren und Schwangerschaft oder auch eine angeborene Venenschwäche.
Wirkstoffe
Ginkgo Biloba Blattpulver kommt aus der traditionellen chinesischen Medizin und wird weltweit in der Phytomedizin u.a. zur Behandlung von zerebralen Dysfunktionen und Zirkulationsstörungen eingesetzt. Die WHO zählt spezielle Extrakte des Baumes zu Antidementiva (PMID: 25114079). Darüber hinaus besitzt Ginkgo Biloba antioxidative Eigenschaften, die dazu beitragen können, Entzündungen und Schäden an den Gefäßwänden zu reduzieren. Ebenfalls kann es als Antioxidans zu einer Verminderung der Lipidperoxidation beitragen (PMID: 17450504). In Bezug auf das Herz-Kreislaufsystem ist es für den kurativen und restorativen Einsatz bei Thrombosen, arteriellen Störungen und Veneninsuffizienz geeignet (PMID: 15592576). Zudem ist es für seine potenziell positiven Auswirkungen auf die Durchblutung und die Gesundheit der Blutgefäße bekannt. Es kann die Blutgefäße erweitern und die Durchblutung verbessern, was dazu beitragen kann, den Blutfluss in den Venen zu fördern.
Rotes Weinlaubpulver kommt aus der edlen Weinrebe Vitis vinifera. Entdeckt wurde die heilende Wirkung von dem griechischen Arzt Galenos. Rotes Weinlaub enthält eine Vielzahl von bioaktiven Verbindungen, darunter Flavonoide wie Quercetin und Rutin, welche wegen ihrer antioxidativen Eigenschaften therapeutisch eingesetzt werden (PMID: 16928673). Speziell bei Venenerkrankungen beruht die Wirkung auf der Abdichtung der Endothelspalten in den Wänden der Gefäße, welches den Ausstrom von Plasma und Wasser in das Gewebe verhindert. Auch können die venulären Endothelzellen vor schädigenden Entzündungsmediatoren geschützt und die Mikrozirkulation in den Gefäßen verbessert werden (ISBN 10: 3437007750). Zudem konnte eine verbesserte Durchblutung und Sauerstoffversorgung im Gewebe, was einhergeht mit einer Verringerung der Beinschwellungen, der Elastizitätssteigerung der Blutgefäße, sowie der Stärkung der Kapillaren, nachgewiesen werden.
Rosskastanien-Extrakt (Aesculus hippocastanum) ist reich an Flavonoiden und Saponinen, welches traditionell bei Venenerkrankungen eingesetzt wird. Es enthält Verbindungen wie Aescin, die dazu beitragen können, die Durchlässigkeit der Gefäßwände zu verringern und Entzündungen und Ödeme zu reduzieren. In klinischen Studien wurde die Sicherheit und Effizienz im Zusammenhang mit dem Einsatz bei chronisch-venöser Insuffizienz, Hämorrhoiden und peripheren Ödemen gezeigt (PMID: 11529685; 23152216, 31643542). Es kann auch den Blutfluss verbessern und die Funktion der Venenklappen unterstützen. Rosskastanienextrakt wird oft zur Linderung von Symptomen wie Schwellungen, Schmerzen und Krämpfen bei Venenerkrankungen wie Krampfadern verwendet (PMID: 31631970).
Vitamin B1 trägt zu einem normalen Energiestoffwechsel, einer normalen psychischen Funktion und einer normalen Herzfunktion bei (PMID: 30501009, PMID: 34337067). Zudem ist es wichtig für die Gesundheit der Nerven und kann dazu beitragen, das Nervensystem zu unterstützen. Es kann indirekt zur Venengesundheit beitragen, indem es eine normale Nervenfunktion aufrechterhält, was wiederum die Kontrolle über die Venenmuskulatur und die Funktion der Venenklappen unterstützen kann.
Vitamin C ist ein starkes Antioxidans, das zur Gesundheit der Blutgefäße beitragen kann, indem es vor oxidativem Stress schützt. Zudem trägt es zu einer normalen Funktion des Immunsystems während und nach intensiver körperlicher Betätigung bei. Es kann die Bildung von Kollagen unterstützen, welches ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Venenwände ist und deren Stärke und Integrität beeinflusst, sowie auch die Stärkung der Blutgefäße, Knochen, Knorpel, Zahnfleisch, Haut und Zähnen bei (PMID: 33037252).
